I started Thor's Performance & Tuning out of a real passion for high-performance GM V8s and hands-on calibration. In July 2026, I picked up my first performance car—an early 2009 Pontiac G8 GT (Holden VE Commodore Series 1). From day one, I was hooked on breaking down the calibration, understanding the electronics, and mapping out a real build plan for a 17-year-old platform.
Every car I touch gets dialed in using actual datalogs and diagnostic data—not guesswork. The goal is straightforward: clean drivability, crisp throttle response, and reliable horsepower that holds up.
Gen IV GM V8 Calibrations: Base mapping, idle tuning, and custom street calibrations for naturally aspirated setups (L76, LS2, LS3, and truck variants).
Remote File Tuning: Mail-order tune revisions and log reviews via HP Tuners for bolt-ons, cam upgrades, and fueling adjustments.
Diagnostics & Datalogging: Deep-dive scanning and sensor troubleshooting to pin down mechanical or wiring faults before laying down power.
6L80 Transmission Tuning: Shift point optimization, torque management adjustments, and clutch pressure tweaks for firm, positive gear changes.
Thor's Performance & Tuning is continuously growing. Current shop R&D includes installing and dialing in a positive-displacement LSA supercharger package on the G8, building reliable forced-induction base files, and expanding testing. Starting with remote calibrations and street tuning, the plan is to steadily scale this into a full-service GM performance, dyno tuning, and engine-building shop.
Below are shots of the shop testbed—my white 2009 Pontiac G8 GT—parked next to another G8 running a full HSV exterior conversion.
Note: The prior modifications currently on both cars were handled by previous owners. All upcoming engine building, forced-induction upgrades, and calibration work on the white G8 will be built and tuned entirely in-house by Thor's Performance & Tuning.
