Thor’s Performance & Tuning provides custom remote calibrations and log reviews via email using HP Tuners VCM Suite.
Because remote calibration takes place without our technicians physically inspecting the vehicle or running it on an in-house dyno, the client assumes 100% responsibility for the vehicle’s mechanical assembly, structural integrity, sensor accuracy, and safety. We provide calibration data based strictly on the hardware information and datalogs you supply; tuning software cannot diagnose or fix hidden mechanical defects, unmetered air leaks, weak fuel pumps, or improper wiring.
Before a base startup file or revision is generated, the client must submit the following via the Intake Form or direct email to contact@thorsperformancetuning.com:
Unmodified Stock/Current ECM & TCM Read:
A clean, complete .hpt read of your vehicle's current controller. Do not attempt to start or flash files until your original base file is backed up and sent.
Accurate Build Sheet & Hardware Specifications:
Exact engine displacement, compression ratio (if altered), and cylinder head specifications.
Camshaft card specifications (gross lift, duration at 0.050", lobe separation angle / LSA).
Exact fuel injector brand, model number, and rated flow data (e.g., GM OEM, FIC, Injector Dynamics).
Intake, throttle body diameter, header primary tube size, and exhaust configuration.
Forced induction hardware (supercharger/turbo brand, pulley sizes, wastegate spring, targeted boost level).
MAP sensor part number (stock 1-bar, GM 2-bar, GM 3-bar, or custom).
Fuel octane being used (e.g., 93 pump, E85, 110 race gas).
Hardware Proof (Optional but Recommended):
Uploading photos of receipts, cam cards, injector spec sheets, or physical part labels helps avoid calibration discrepancies caused by counterfeit injectors or inaccurate seller specs.
Build Goals & Priorities:
Primary use case: Street cruiser, weekend drag car, road race, or aggressive idle chop while maintaining OEM transmission manners.
To execute remote revisions, the client must possess the following equipment:
HP Tuners Interface: Genuine MPVI2, MPVI2+, MPVI3, or MPVI4 with an active USB-C/OBD-II cable connection.
Universal Credits: Sufficient credits on your device to license the specific vehicle ECM/TCM.
Laptop: Windows laptop running the latest stable release of HP Tuners VCM Suite.
Wideband Oxygen Sensor (Mandatory for WOT / Cam / Boost): An active wideband controller (AEM 30-0300/30-0334, Ballenger AFR500, Innovate, etc.) wired for analog or OBD-II CAN-bus streaming into VCM Scanner. Standard narrow-band O2 sensors cannot be used to tune wide-open throttle fueling safely.
Startup & Heat Cycle: The initial base file is calibrated strictly for safe engine starting, heat cycling, setting initial idle parameters, and verifying that no immediate sensor codes exist.
Log-to-Revision Limits: A standard remote tuning package includes up to 5 iterative revision cycles based on your returned .hpl datalogs.
Drive Cycles & Logging Parameters: Datalogs must be recorded using the specific VCM Scanner .xml channel configuration provided by Thor's Performance & Tuning. Logs taken with generic OBD-II PID setups will be rejected.
Turnaround Time: Revisions are typically reviewed and returned within 24 to 72 business hours of receiving clean, readable logs.
Scope of Revision: Revisions apply exclusively to the build sheet originally submitted. Swapping injectors, changing pulley sizes, or switching camshafts mid-process constitutes a new build scope and requires a new calibration package.
By submitting an order and loading files supplied by Thor’s Performance & Tuning, the client agrees to the following legally binding terms:
Mechanical Integrity Assumption: The client warrants that all mechanical components, fluid levels, cooling systems, fuel deliveries, and electrical wiring are properly installed, torqued, bled, and functional. Thor's Performance & Tuning is not liable for blown head gaskets, melted pistons, dropped valves, bent pushrods, transmission clutch slip, fire, or catastrophic engine failure occurring during or after calibration sessions.
Safe Logging Environment: The client is solely responsible for operating the vehicle in a safe, controlled, and legal manner during datalogging sessions. Datalogging must take place on closed-course tracks or strictly within the bounds of local traffic and speed laws. Thor’s Performance & Tuning assumes zero liability for traffic violations, accidents, property damage, or physical injury.
Emissions / Competition Exemption: All remote calibrations are engineered and sold strictly for sanctioned competition, off-highway use, or racing vehicles that do not operate on public highways. The customer accepts full legal responsibility for compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental standards.
All Sales Final: Due to the custom, proprietary nature of software calibration files and digital data delivery, all remote tuning sales and hardware licenses are non-refundable once the base file has been delivered.
